Aftercare
Instructions
Your tattoo is an open wound. Proper aftercare is essential for healing, longevity, and appearance.
OPTION 1: SECOND SKIN / DERMAL BANDAGE AFTERCARE
• Leave second skin on for 5–7 days. Do not wear longer than 7 days.
• Bandage is water-resistant, not waterproof.
• Shower as normal, but do not soak (no baths, hot tubs, pools, saunas, lakes, or oceans).
• Avoid excessive sweating and friction.
• If the bandage peels, leaks, or becomes compromised, remove it and follow no-second-skin aftercare.
Removing Second Skin (After 5–7 Days)
1. Remove bandage in the shower.
2. Slowly peel back parallel to the skin (do not pull straight up).
3. Wash tattoo with a mild antibacterial soap.
4. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely.
5. Apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare or unscented, non-colored lotion.
After Bandage Removal
• Wash tattoo once daily for 7 days.
• Apply a thin layer of aftercare as needed.
• Do not over-moisturize — tattoo should never appear wet or shiny.
OPTION 2: NO SECOND SKIN AFTERCARE
Days 1–7 (up to 10 days):
• Wash tattoo twice daily with mild antibacterial soap (ex: Gold Dial).
• Pat dry with clean paper towel or allow to air dry.
• Apply tattoo aftercare sparingly throughout the day.
Days 8–14:
• Reduce washing to once daily.
• Continue light application of unscented lotion as needed.
IMPORTANT DOs & DON’Ts
DO: Wear clean loose clothing, keep hands clean, expect peeling and itching.
DO NOT: Pick or scratch, use scented products, expose to sun or tanning beds, or submerge tattoo until healed (2–4 weeks).
CONTACT YOUR ARTIST IF YOU NOTICE: Excessive redness, swelling, heat, thick yellow/green discharge, fever, or signs
of infection.
